February | Love

Love is a decision.

God never stops loving us because His love is immeasurable and unconditional.

We learn to love through serving and being shown love.

Valuable Verses

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16

“Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart.” Proverbs 3:3

“And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’” Matthew 22:39

“My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.“ John 15:12-13

A Word of Encouragement

As Christ followers we are called to love. In today’s world, love is not always shown in every circumstance. This month, we want to encourage you as a family to look at what God says about love. Love is intertwined in every story in Scripture. As you explore the Scriptures, you will see love is a conscious choice. We see love as a conscious choice displayed in the crucifixion of Jesus. God loved us so much that He made the decision to sacrifice His Son, so we could be with Him in heaven one day. Encourage your family to make the conscious decision to love those around you everyday. Allow love to invade your home with every interaction you have with your family, and help guide the decisions you make.

Get the Conversation Going
Take a moment to discuss these questions as a family:

• Who is someone you love? Are they easy to love?

• Is there someone in your life that is hard to love? If yes, how can you love them?

• What are some conscious decisions you as a family can make to love those around you?

Be sure to check the monthly activity page for age-appropriate ideas and ways to make love a priority.
