Thankfulness looks upward.

A Word of Encouragement

We should be thankful regardless of circumstances even in the midst of hard times. No matter what we face, we can express our thanksgiving to the God who is there, who is powerful, and who is our advocate even on our most difficult days. When Scripture tells us to be thankful in everything, it isn’t merely a suggestion. We are instructed to give thanks.

As we move into the Thanksgiving season, remember the goodness of the Lord even more. Instead of thinking about what is on our holiday wish list, we should pause to give thanks for what God has done. Our thankfulness should be rooted in God’s character, not our material blessings. The gift of salvation alone gives enough reason to be filled with gratitude and thankfulness.
