A new chapter in the life of First Baptist Church Maryville officially began during a special Business Meeting held at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, December 5th. The church family decided with an overwhelming vote of affirmation that Dr. Tom Hufty will be the next Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church Maryville.
God has graciously given the church an amazing team in Dr. Hufty and his very gifted wife, Rhonda. Both are leaving positions at Hannibal LaGrange College where Tom has served as Vice President of Collegiate Affairs/Assistant to the President since 1998, and Rhonda as Director of Public Relations since 2003. They have also worked together through marriage retreats and mentoring future leaders. They bring a heart for God, a passion for missions, tremendous experience, and great wisdom. Exciting days are ahead for First Baptist Church Maryville!
This news comes about 13 months after Dr. Hufty began serving at FBCM as Interim Pastor and almost 21 months since the church began a very unexpected journey following the loss of Senior Pastor Fred Winters on Sunday, March 8, 2009. Pastor Mark Jones, Minister of Worship and Co-Leader:
